Starfield is getting its biggest update on January 17, Details and More

Bethesda just dropped a bombshell. Starfield is about to get its most significant update into Steam Beta on January 17. This will include over 100 fixes and improvements. The update will be released on the live version two weeks after the beta one.

First up, Bethesda is tackling some pesky quest issues. If you’ve been struggling in the Eye of the Storm quest with things like docking the Legacy or transferring data, breathe easy – they’re fixing that. And those of you who’ve been scratching your heads in Into the Unknown because Temples weren’t showing up are getting sorted, too. Our adventures with Constellation are about to get a lot smoother.

But wait, there’s more! The update isn’t just about fixing bugs; it’s also about giving us a visual feast and a more stable game. We’re talking:

  • Better support for widescreen displays (yes, please!)
  • Upgraded textures, lighting, and shadows (get ready for some eye candy)
  • Side-by-side comparisons to show off the improvements (can’t wait to see this!)

The team didn’t stop there. They’re also tweaking other things like the sun disk geometry, fixing those annoying bulldozed objects at Outposts, sorting out ship hatches, and dealing with asteroids that love to tail our ships a bit too much. Some of the highlights of this update can be found below.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
