Pokemon VGC player permanently banned for making a “bomb” joke
Every language has its own meaning for words, but that doesn’t mean that we should say everything everywhere because that something means differently in our native language.
It has been announced that a quite popular Pokemon VGC player, going by the name Alex “Len” has been permanently banned from basically anything after he made a joke about “bombing TPCI” after they benched not one, but two “hacked” Pokemon.
After the Spanish VGC pro was notified that it was discovered he had two “hacked” Pokemon and that those Pokemon would be benched, he went onto X. He ranted, saying that if the officials ban another Pokemon of his, he would “bomb TPCI” and later on, this all resulted in a permanent ban from all official events related to The Pokemon Company.
Highly inappropriate words, which he later stated that in his language, the expression is part of a meme often used in Spanish, and he didn’t really mean that he would literally bomb them. Nonetheless, I think all statements of this kind should not be taken lightly, no matter what they mean in a different language.
Some think that this is a harsh punishment that the player will be facing, others think that he should be punished even further for using violence in such a light way.
