Sea of Thieves’ arrival to PS5 is super exciting for everyone

The announcement of Sea of Thieves coming to PS5 is a significant milestone for the game and its developer, Rare. With a release date of April 30, the game will overwhelm everyone on the PS platform.

Sea of Thieves joins the ranks of other titles, such as Grounded, Pentiment, and Hi-Fi Rush, in this multiplatform initiative, all of which will feature full cross-play support.

The transition of Sea of Thieves to PS5, a multiplayer, live-service game, is famous for its potential to strengthen its community. By enabling players across Xbox, PC, and now PlayStation platforms to play together, Rare eliminates barriers to play, fostering a more inclusive and expansive gaming environment.

This move aligns with the sentiments expressed by Mike Chapman, the creative director, who highlighted the importance of removing barriers that prevent players from playing together. Adding PS5 to the list of supported platforms is a massive step towards bringing a new audience into the fold and enriching the game’s diverse community.

Executive producer Joe Nate’s comments about the game’s shared world setting emphasize the dynamic, ever-changing nature of Sea of Thieves, driven by the diversity of its player base. The PS5 launch is expected to enrich the game’s world even further, bringing in new players and, with them, the latest stories and memories to be made on the high seas. Shelley Preston, the associate design director, also expressed excitement about welcoming a new community of players, highlighting the joy in watching new players discover the game.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
