Fortnite servers still under maintenance for Season 2, Epic Games sends message to players

Fortnite players who wanted to join the fun and jump into the new Season 2 are unable to do so simply because Epic Games hasn’t finished the server maintenance yet. It has taken a while now, and it seems that Epic Games is having some troubles, judging by the time.

Even though the server maintenance of v29.00 was expected to conclude at 8 AM ET and the servers to become available, Epic Games has acknowledged the delay, which will result in prolonged time. This delay is unusual, as compared to Season 1, which introduced LEGO, which was larger.

Update:

Sadly, the maintenance, according to Epic Games has hit a roadblock and will have to be extended for additional 8 hours. This was stated on Fortnite Status’ official Twitter profile.

Even though the update can be downloaded, once you get into the game, you will be greeted with a message saying that the game is still unavailable. As per Epic Games:

We’re still working through some updates during downtime and will provide more information once our v29.00 downtime has ended.

Worry not, as this is definitely not the first time Epic Games got stuck in the mud, as it has done multiple times before, but not to this extent. This is why everyone believes that something’s going on. Anyway, once it launches, players will be greeted by the new Greek Mythology-based theme which is supposed to provide players with solid entertainment and fresh experience.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
