Useful Tips for the Next Community Day Event in Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go Community Day event is something we’re going to be a part of every month and within a time period of three-hours, Trainers all around the world will have a chance to earn more XP, Stardust, and catch a special Pokemon with an exclusive move.

The first event went live on January 20, with players having a chance to catch special Pokemon Pikachu who can learn Surf as an exclusive move. In addition, during this three-hour window, players got a chance to earn x2 XP and Lures got activated for 3h.

The second Community Day event is scheduled for February 24, with start time at 11:00 AM CEST until 2:00 PM CEST. This time, Pokemon Go players will have 3h to catch Dratini as the “Special Pokemon” and earn 3x Catch Stardust. Also, Lures will be active for 3h.

  • The Asia-Pacific region – from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. JST (GMT +9)
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India – from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UTC (GMT +0)
  • The Americas and Greenland – from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. PST (GMT -8)

Now it’s the perfect time to get ready in advance for the upcoming event and I would like to share two useful tips with the rest of the community.

Tip No.1:

The first tip is the skip shaking and caught screen bug. Using this method, players can catch Dratini every 10 seconds and all you need to do is this:

  • Use your left thumb to drag the Pokeball selection to the left and just hold on to it, then use your right index finger/thumb to spin and catch the mon. Then as soon as the runaway icon appears just click it to close. In addition, you need to close the ball selection menu first after throwing the ball so the exit icon will appear, just swipe the menu back/tap the screen when the ball hit the Pokemon.
  • Or watch the video here.

Tip No.2:

Start collecting Razz Berries and Great/Ultra Pokeballs to increase the chance of catching Dratini with the first Pokeball. In this way, you will maximize the catch rate per 30 minutes.

In addition, collecting Pinap Berries and Great/Ultra Pokeballs is a good combo when it comes down to Dratini.

For last, have in mind that this event will last only for three hours, so you want to maximize your catch rate and get max out of the 3 hour x3 Stardust bonus, or x4,5 with Star Piece. For those who are missing Star Piece or any other item, there is a special box sale until February 23, so you might want to check it out. And one last thing, if you decide to get yourself one of the boxes, go for the Ultra Box and you’ll be safe.
