Pokemon Go Tagging Feature

A new feature was recently datamined, called Tagging. There have also been some hints in Niantic’s recent Developer Blog post, but they haven’t confirmed it yet.

Some crucial information is missing, but from the ones we have, thanks to the world’s greatest PokeMiners, we guess that Tagging is meant to allow Trainers to mark their Pokemon with custom names of their choice. Each Tag will contain the name of the designated Pokemon and color from a pre-made list of colors.

It seems like these Tags can be new, or can be already existing tags – “Assign new tags to (0)”. There will be a button for this option, which you can see from the picture with Pikachu and a + sign next to it.

Like it is now, we guess that you can see every Pokemon with the Tag you want by writing “View all Pokemon with the (0) tag”; “View all tags assigned to (0)”, or you can edit your Tag or delete it by typing in “Remove the (0) tag from (_).”

We would like for Niantic to implement new tag settings, but the current one is already pushed to the Game Master and will need an update for it to go live in the game.

We must remind you that this is datamine and therefore it is subject to change.
