Nine to Five Enters Early Access on Steam

The developers at Redhill Games have just announced that Nine to Five has entered Early Access on Steam. As a free-to-play title, the game is accessible to everyone. Unlike its early test phases, Nine to Five has undergone some changes making the game a lot smoother, better, and with enhanced performance.

Nine to Five is a tactical first-person shooter where smart teamwork triumphs over brute force and reflexes. In the game’s near-future world, it’s the corporations that rule, and being a mercenary for them is just another job. A mesh of realistic and futuristic shooters as already seen on the gaming market.

Having the possibility to compete against two other teams on the map, contributes to having very intense rounds. Each round’s outcome influences how the next one starts, so if you want to complete the ever-changing objectives the corporations set you, you’ll need to constantly adapt your approach.

What is also different is that unlike in other games, the objectives are diversified each round based on the team’s success. To explain it better, the objectives are dependant and conditional based on the outcome in the previous round. If a team wins the objective, the next round they’re put in a tougher spot, so it balances the game better.

According to the official announcement and press release for going Early Access on Steam:

Why Early Access?

Since the beginning, we’ve built Nine to Five with our players, running several tests together with our community to get your feedback. We believe the game is currently at a fun state, and that it has a lot going for it. However, we understand how important it is to get all the details right in a PVP shooter. Being in Early Access gives us an opportunity to do just that, improving Nine to Five together with the players.

We are dedicated to making Nine to Five the game it deserves to be. We are gamers ourselves too. The team will work hard towards making the game as good as it can be, with periodic updates and fixes as we progress through Early Access towards a full launch. Expect more features and improvements to be implemented as we continue development.

What can I expect to see in the game?

The current version features two spacious maps, accompanied by three different game modes with several variations. There are 19 unique weapons to unlock and modify to suit your playstyle, as well as several armor sets which offer highly different loadout options. The combination provides a unique toolset for players to play out their strategies with their own playstyle in Nine to Five. The game will constantly be improved as we move forward, and additional content will be added over time as well.

What about my progress?

We do not intend to wipe any progress between now and release, so all progress from Early Access will carry over to the eventual launch.

If you participated in Friends & Family or Alpha, you Should have now received a code by email that you can use to claim some unique rewards. For all Beta players, you will receive a special reward based on how far your progress in the test is as soon as you log in to the game with the same Steam account that you played the Beta Weekend with.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
