Nikita Confirms, Escape From Tarkov Wipe coming with Next Patch

We knew wipe is coming sooner or later, and Nikita just proved it. It's only a couple of tweaks separating us from a fresh beginning.

It’s quite clear that Escape From Tarkov is nearing wipe, and no one can deny that. But to bolster the hype to a completely another level, Nikita had to twirl in his actual opinion on it. Since the very start of the TarkovTV podcast, Nikita opened with a discussion about the next Escape From Tarkov wipe, claiming that it will come with the next major update. Hence, the next major update equals wipe.

The statement can be found in the video below:

Escape From Tarkov is getting closer to a wipe at this point in its timeline. The game is seeing a huge success, with the developer catching up with the pace and actively working on the project. Recently, another standalone project has been revealed, and that is Escape From Tarkov Arena. Furthermore, Nikita confirmed that the EOD edition would no longer be a purchasable option once the game releases completely.

A wipe means that the whole database is reset, and the players have to start a new cycle. No progress carries over, which means everything you had is flopped and done with. The only thing you have is the starter packs (based on the game edition) that include a couple of guns, meds, and ammunition. If we compare it to other multiplayer games that have currency and balance of similar matter, none of them have finished well in the long-term, simply because it gets caught by inflation, and the economy is more likely to be destroyed.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
