Final Fantasy Series Boasts Over 180 Million Shipments and Downloads Worldwide

The first Final Fantasy developed and published by Square was released back in 1987 and since then the game sold over 180 million units worldwide.

Final Fantasy’s first game was created by Hironobu Sakaguchi in 1987. The first FF was released for the NES, and then it was remade and available for other game consoles. There are 15 mainline FF titles and 95 games. According to reports, the longest title to complete is Final Fantasy 11.

FF14 and FF12 are holding second and third place with 230 and 60 hours respectively.
