Fortnite Battle Royale is approaching its 6th anniversary, and Epic Games is marking the occasion with an exciting hotfix. The new update brings an array of birthday-themed additions that players will undoubtedly enjoy.
Firstly, players can find and indulge in a red velvet Birthday Cake scattered across the Island. Not only is it a treat for the eyes, but consuming it will also help players recover both Health and Shield, giving them a little edge in battle.
But what’s a birthday without presents? Epic hasn’t forgotten. As players roam the map, they might come across mysterious Birthday Presents. These enticing boxes are waiting to be unwrapped or, in true Fortnite style, smashed open with a pickaxe. Those who venture to discover what’s inside can find these presents on the ground and hidden within chests.
Balloons have also made their way into the festive fray. Players can grab these inflatables, becoming instantly more airborne and agile. These aren’t just for decoration; they add a new layer of strategy to the gameplay. Whether found as ground loot or tucked inside chests, they will uplift the bearers’ spirits.

Aw, you didn’t think we’d forgotten, did you? Scoop up one of these enticing boxes of mystery and unfurl the ribbon (i.e. give it a good smack with your Pickaxe) to find out what lies inside! Find Birthday Presents! from the ground and Chests.
BALLOONS
Discover one of these deceptively load-bearing inflatables and find yourself immediately more airborne and agile. Balloons can be found from the ground (ironically) and Chests.
JUMP BALLOON REALITY AUGMENT
Are you above finding Balloons? Activate the new Jump Balloon Reality Augment to get a Balloon automatically when you jump, until you reach the max number of Balloons.
Birthday Cake, Birthday Presents!, Balloons, and the Jump Balloon Reality Augment will remain in Battle Royale until v26.20!

From eating Birthday Cake, collecting Birthday Presents!, all the way to wishing the bus driver a happy birthday — Birthday Quests are live now until September 26, 2023, at 12 AM ET! Complete individual Quests for XP, and complete certain amounts of Quests for special Locker items:

Alongside the festivity features, the Shell Slide and Bloodhound Reality Augments have been unvaulted! When Shell Slide is activated, you’ll gain Shotgun shells while sliding. With Bloodhound, enemies hit by your DMR shots will be marked for a short duration.
