Video Game Updates & Patch Notes

Deep Rock Galactic S04.09 Patch Notes

Deep Rock Galactic, the beloved 1-4 player co-op FPS game, just rolled out another update, and it’s something you’ll want to pay attention to, especially if you’re a regular player. The latest patch, identified as S04.09, brings several significant changes worth a deeper dive into.

Developed by Ghost Ship Games, this game offers an action-packed experience, allowing you to team up with friends or other players to fight off alien monsters in a 100% destructible, ever-changing cave environment.

Deep Rock Galactic Patch Notes – S04.09

  • Fixed issue where some weapons could do massive amounts of damage when shooting a puddle
  • Fixed that rejoin game would fail, if the host had previously hosted another game
  • Adjusted Large meteor carver to make rock cracker locations more accessible without mining
  • Fixed a few typos
  • Optimized contagion spikes a bit
  • Added a Merch tab to the menu, currently shows the DRG board game + expansion kickstarter

One of the key fixes in this update is the correction of a glitch that allowed some weapons to deal an excessive amount of damage when shooting at a puddle. This could potentially unbalance the gameplay, so it’s a relief that the developers have addressed it.

Another notable fix is for the ‘Rejoin Game’ function. Previously, if a host had hosted another game in the past, players would find it impossible to rejoin the ongoing game. This fix should make the gameplay experience smoother, especially for those who frequently play with the same group of friends.

The Large meteor carver has been adjusted to make rock cracker locations more easily reachable without the need for mining. This will likely speed up gameplay and reduce the time needed for setup, allowing players to focus more on the action.

Additionally, a few typos have been corrected, and the contagion spikes have been optimized for better performance. These might be small changes, but they contribute to a more polished overall experience.
