Atlas Fallen Update 2 Patch Notes for November 17

Deck13, the developers behind the action-packed RPG game Atlas Fallen, have just released Update 2 on November 17. This latest update aims to enhance players’ gaming experience with various improvements and fixes.

Tweaks/QoL Improvements

  • Shellbasher:
    • Tweaked the behaviour so that it can only use the tornado attack when below 75% health remaining and player has at least 15% momentum
    • Tweaked the duration of the tornado attack (-1s)

UI/UX

    • Hold Inputs now display the text (HOLD) to avoid confusion

Difficulty

 

    • Multiple deaths in a boss fight now apply a debuff to the enemy to make fights less frustrating (after 6 retries in normal difficulty, 4 in easy. No changes to hard difficulty)
    • Player is no longer forced to have conversations with Nyaal at Anvils. Essential dialogue is now displayed a second time the players interacts with Nyaal.
  • Repositioned Sand Echo in Level 2 to allow players to explore more freely before stumbling on another narrative element
  • Increased/Repositioned enemy variety in Level 2
  • Broken Desert Bridge in Level 2 is now crossable when only having 1 AirDash
  • Several tweaks to better guide players:
    • Indicate that the desert area is more dangerous/challenging than the forest area leading into Castrum VII
    • Where to go when coming out of the map tutorial
  • Allow players to immediately retry the shatter tutorial when dying
  • Collecting Shards now provides additional rewards

Bug Fixes

Gameplay:

  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to use the Shatter attack before reaching the first Bolster Level
  • Fixed a bug that prevented enemies from spawning when retrying an encounter multiple times in a row after dying
  • Fixed several instances of wrong collisions that allowed players to reach unintended locations (Decision point in Caladrias: Forbidden Lands)
  • Fixed several instances of wrong collisions that allowed players to reach unintended locations (Prophecy Space and Sunken City in Bastengar’s Underground)
  • Fixed several instances of wrong collisions that allowed players to reach unintended locations (Priest Estate, Cliffside and Roadside Temple in Monsalar: Wildlands)
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to skip the launch/slam attack tutorial and thus not unlock it
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the perk “Lucky Spotter” from working appropriately
  • Fixed a bug that blocked autosaves after defeating or fleeing from a Watcher’s Fury event
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Watcher’s Fury event from starting under certain conditions
  • Fixed a bug that prevented some quests from automatically completing under certain conditions
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Shatter attack from working appropriately
  • Fixed an issue that caused Arif to spawn under the map in Monsalar: Wildlands and blocked players from advancing through the main quest
  • Fixed a bug that caused some NPCs to be placed incorrectly when updating the game to newer versions
  • General fixes to NPC behaviours and animation
  • General fixes to quest auto completion requirements and notifications
  • General improvements to targeting enemies using Mouse & Keyboard
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Essence Stone “Ruthless Advantage” from working properly
  • Fixed a bug that caused certain enemies/groups of enemies to despawn mid-fight
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Journal Entries and Audio Logs from working properly after defeating the Thelos’ Champion

Enemies

  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies to stop attacking during the Shatter Tutorial in Caladrias: Forbidden Lands
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to also engage in other regular enemies when inside a Watchtower fight
  • Fixed a bug that made enemies walk into walls and/or terrain
  • Several fixes to the fight against the final boss Thelos’ Champion:
    • Lasers could spawn too high and not hit players
    • Fixes to targeting behaviour when fighting in co-op
    • Fixes to client not getting damaged by certain attacks when fighting in co-op
    • Fixes to player having momentum decay in moments they shouldn’t
  • Fixed a bug that caused the mines from the Scatterer to explode despite bouncing them back at the enemy
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Diver enemy from being stunned when underground and hit by a Slam attack
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the Marauder to go outside the combat arena by using one of its abilities in the fight on Caladrias: Forbidden Lands

Visual

  • General improvements to FSR2
  • Fixed an issue that caused Essence Stone’s VFX to be displayed wrongly
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the VFX’s for the Essence Stone “Whirling Blade” from being displayed correctly
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the VFX’s for the Essence Stone “Shattered Ground” from being displayed correctly
  • Fixed a bug where lighting would look different when opening Photo Mode
  • Fixed a bug where the character would activate the Sandskin when opening Photo Mode under certain conditions

Audio

  • Adjusted character voices volume to be more consistent during conversations
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the voice lines from Thelos’ Champion from playing appropriately
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the correct SFX from playing when players picked up a reward from a wildlife treasure hunt
  • Fixed a bug that caused the SFX of the Essence Stone “Wearying Veil” to loop
  • General improvements and fixes to German Voice Over
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the correct track from playing when picking up Gauntlet Shards (Console only)

UI

  • Fixed a bug that could cause map counters to incorrectly increase their count when reloading savefiles
  • Fixed a bug that could cause map counters to incorrectly increase their count when loading different levels
  • Fixed a general bug that made map counters display incorrect numbers after completing certain quests or world activities
  • Fixed a bug that prevented resetting perk points to work appropriately
  • Fixed a bug that prevented notifications of loot pick up from appearing on the HUD
  • Fixed a bug that prevented banners from displaying the correct ‘dissolve’ effect in the HUD
  • General fixes to navigation using Mouse & Keyboard
  • Fixed a bug that caused the momentum bar to look full when it was, in fact, just almost full
  • Fixed a bug that prevented certain text boxes to not be displayed properly on UltraWide Monitors
  • Fixed a bug that prevented certain screens from displaying properly on UltraWide Monitors
  • Fixed a bug that caused some NPCs to have blank conversation options
  • Fixed a bug that caused some NPCs to still have quest markers on them even after finishing the quest related to them
  • Fixed a bug that caused the new item notification (exclamation mark) to never disappear from the items if an item was removed before the quest was completed
  • Fixed a bug that caused the new quest marker (exclamation mark) to never disappear from new quests
  • Fixed a bug that caused the cursor to not snap appropriately to certain Map key icons (such as Anvils)

Technical

  • Fixed multiple crash instances
    • Specific crash during an Animatic when the language was set to German
  • Fixed some instances of stuttering around the City of the Sun in Monsalar: Wildlands
  • Improvements to texture loading times
    • Fixes to chest textures taking a couple seconds to load
    • Fixes to NPC character outfits’ textures taking a couple seconds to load

Environment

  • General fixes for floating vegetation
  • General fixes for inaccurate collisions
  • General fixes for alpha maps on some assets in the City of the Sun
  • Fixed the lighting in specific spots of the Queen’s Passage
  • Removed Valery’s body from the Prison area after you attend her funeral

Co-op

  • Fixed a bug that allowed a co-op partner to proceed during cutscenes even though their partner was dead and waiting to be revived causing the player to appear as a corpse
  • Fixed a bug that allowed a co-op partner to start the Watchtower fight in Monsalar: Wildlands without their partner
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to be blocked if one of the players skipped through cutscenes while the other was having a specific conversation at an Anvil in Caladrias: Forbidden Lands
  • Fixed a bug that cause the client player to be displayed not having a hand (for the host) in the co-op menu
  • FIxed a bug that allowed co-op players to see and hear VFX/SFX from the other player without them experiencing it themselves
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to not get loot if they were performing certain actions while their partner picked it up
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to be stuck into sand surfing if they entered the Black Alms level while their partner had a pop up active
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Fusion Tutorial to trigger twice for certain players

Localization:

  • General fixes for typos, grammar and localization in English, German, Russian and Korean
  • General updates to the font so that it can better accommodate non-latin alphabets
  • Fixed a bug that caused several lines in Spanish Castellan to be displayed incorrectly throughout the game
  • Fixed a bug that caused certain strings to be displayed as “00” on certain languages
