Dune: Spice Wars releasing on Xbox Series, it will also be available via Xbox Game Pass

I have some very good news for Dune fans, who also happen to own an Xbox Series console (I am a fan too, minus the console, sadly), and believe me, you will like it.

Funcom and Shiro Games have announced the upcoming release of the real-time strategy game, Dune: Spice Wars, for Xbox Series on November 28. What’s even better is that the game will be available via Xbox Game Pass, offering an accessible entry point for subscribers to experience the spice-infused battles on the harsh desert planet of Arrakis.

Dune: Spice Wars originally launched in Early Access for PC via Steam on April 26, 2022, and subsequently had its full release on September 14, 2023. Developed by the team behind the critically acclaimed Northgard, this 4X real-time strategy game is set in Frank Herbert’s iconic Dune universe.

In the game, players must lead their factions, navigating the treacherous desert landscape, battling for control, and vying for dominance over the coveted spice, the most valuable resource in the universe. Spice extends life, expands consciousness, and facilitates interstellar travel, making Arrakis a focal point for influential forces in the Imperium.

The unique gameplay mechanics include scanning the landscape for wormsign, avoiding colossal sandworms, and strategically using political intrigue and espionage to outmaneuver opponents. Players will engage with iconic characters from Frank Herbert’s Dune, including Duke Leto Atreides, the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, and the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV.

The game offers a dynamic and immersive experience with a 4X approach in real-time, allowing players to balance warfare, subterfuge, political influence, and economic supremacy to secure control over Arrakis. With up to four-player multiplayer options, players can form alliances or engage in free-for-all battles, customizing parameters to suit their preferences.

Dune: Spice Wars brings the conquest of Arrakis to life, allowing players to take control of major houses and embark on strategic journeys filled with honor, politics, violence, and deceit. With various factions, councilor combinations, and customization options, each playthrough promises a unique and engaging experience.

What do you think about this? Let’s gather together and express our Dune love in the comments below.
