Infinity Ward expands its horizon, Launches new studio in Austin for Call of Duty Innovation

Infinity Ward, renowned for creating the Call of Duty series, has opened a new studio in Austin, Texas, marking a significant expansion in its operational footprint. Since its inception in 2002, Infinity Ward has been at the forefront of the gaming industry, earning accolades for their innovative approach to game development. This new studio is set to continue this legacy by focusing on creating fresh, state-of-the-art experiences for the Call of Duty franchise.

The new Austin studio aims to revolutionize the Call of Duty experience, blending new ideas with cutting-edge technology. Known for their award-winning titles like Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which have collectively won over 200 “Game of the Year” and 100 “Editor’s Choice” awards, Infinity Ward is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming.

This expansion reflects Infinity Ward’s commitment to an environment that fosters creativity and empowers its team to create extraordinary experiences. As a subsidiary of Activision, the studio will leverage its rich heritage in gaming to set new benchmarks in the industry.

The Austin studio is not just about technology; it’s about people. They are currently looking for an Expert UI Engineer to join their team. This role is critical for developing intuitive and engaging user interfaces, requiring proficiency in LUA scripting and a deep understanding of user experience in console gaming. The ideal candidate should have over seven years of UI development experience and at least one shipped product as a senior UI engineer.

In this dynamic role, responsibilities will include developing, modifying, and debugging UI software in script and C/C++, deploying and testing UI software on various platforms, and collaborating with internal departments and other Activision studios. This position is also about mentorship and being a driving force for efficiency in the team.

The perfect candidate for this role will have a comprehensive understanding of object-oriented programming, a track record of writing clean and reliable code, and ideally, a background in UX design, ActionScript, C# programming, and Lua programming.

Infinity Ward’s expansion in Austin is more than just a new location; it’s a hub for innovation and creativity, promising to bring new dimensions to the beloved Call of Duty series and continue its legacy of excellence in the gaming world.
