Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon releasing next year in the West, players are getting two routes
Finally, a good visual novel is coming to the West, and we are really excited to see Shiki’s life from two perspectives.
Aniplex and TYPE-MOON have announced the release of Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon for PlayStation 4 and Switch in the West in the summer of 2024. Originally launched in Japan on August 26, 2021, the remake promises an enhanced gaming experience with physical limited editions available for $79.99, while digital editions will be revealed later.
Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, a revered visual novel from Kinoko Nasu and TYPE-MOON, reimagines the “Near Side of the Moon” segment of the original Tsukihime, featuring Arcueid’s scenario, “Moon Princess,” and Ciel’s scenario, “Midnight Rainbow.” Nasu has meticulously deconstructed and reconstructed the narrative, bringing it into the 2010s Tokyo setting with expanded storytelling that promises heightened tension and realism.
The remake boasts evolved visuals, animations, and music, offering a fresh perspective on TYPE-MOON’s genre-defining classic. The storyline follows Shiki Tohno’s return home after his father’s death, navigating the complexities of his illustrious family while encountering mysterious creatures and unveiling fragmented memories.
Players can delve into two distinct routes: Ciel’s Route, where Shiki’s life takes a dark turn amidst a string of killings, and Arc’s Route, where he becomes embroiled in a battle against inhuman vampires after encountering the enigmatic Arcueid. The game, originally an indie visual novel created in 1999, is reborn after two decades, promising a reframed and retold masterpiece for both new and nostalgic fans alike.
