Escape From Tarkov: How to Fix “There is no game with name EFT”

Update: According to Battlestate Games, this has been fixed and should no longer appear.

All of you who are still struggling to get inside the game, remember that it’s not your fault, and there’s no proper workaround for the “There is no game with the name EFT.” One thing’s sure: Battlestate Games is working on a fix and will probably finish it soon.

The “There is no game with name EFT” error in the Escape from Tarkov launcher can be frustrating, but there are several solutions you can try to fix it. First and foremost, the one that has been working for most of my friends and colleagues is the Run as Administrator. To do this, right-click the BSG launcher and click Run as Administrator. If you don’t see it as an option, make sure you hold down SHIFT while you’re right-clicking the icon.

As for the other additional tips, I’d recommend…

  1. Clean Boot Your System: Performing a clean boot on your system can help identify if any third-party software conflicts with the game. This process involves starting Windows with minimal drivers and startup programs.
  2. Disable Antivirus Temporarily: Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with games. Temporarily disabling your antivirus might resolve the issue. Be cautious, as this could expose your system to security risks.
  3. Clear Cache Data: Clearing cache data can sometimes fix issues with loading or running software.
  4. Reset Game/Launcher Settings to Default: Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause issues. Resetting the game and launcher settings to their default values might help.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
