Activision Announces RICOCHET’s New Ability to Detect Third-Party Aim Assist on PC

Activision has taken a significant step towards maintaining the fairness of Call of Duty, especially in its cross-play environment. Due to the rising usage of third-party software that gives aim assist advantage to PC players, the game’s fairness has been compromised.

A new software that allows PC players to activate aim assist even while using a keyboard and mouse has recently surfaced. This has created an unfair advantage over players using gamepads, tipping the balance necessary for fair competition. This issue has been especially controversial in games that support cross-play, as it provides PC players with an undeserved advantage regarding reaction time and accuracy.

The announcement arrived from Call of Duty Updates official X profile.

Activision stated that using aim-assist cheats on PC will not be tolerated. Players caught using such exploits or third-party apps will face severe consequences, including the possibility of being permanently banned from the game.

I know you’ve probably been a victim of smooth parkour movement paired with a colossal aim lockdown, sending you to the gulag or maybe even back to the lobby. I’ve been there too. I am looking forward to this announcement and hope to see players abusing this get banned soon!

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
