Starfield’s biggest update has left the beta phase and it’s available to everyone
The latest major update for Bethesda’ Starfield is now accessible to everyone as it has transitioned from the Steam Beta phase to full availability on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. This update introduces over 100 corrections, targeting quests, bugs, and other flaws. Additionally, it expands widescreen compatibility, now supporting aspect ratios of 32:9, 21:9, and 16:10.
This update allows Crowd NPCs to look more realistic, and also adds clarity to water reflection. Contact shadows have been improved, and with improved skin and clothing, characters are now displayed much better.
The lighting quality has been improved in certain areas, along with the enhancement of astronomical features. The stars now exhibit sun disk geometry, and when viewed from a planet’s surface, the shadows of planetary rings can be seen. The update also addresses numerous technical issues, including problems related to geometry, texture, ghosting, VFX flickering, and more.
Looking forward, Bethesda is preparing for additional updates throughout February.
