A Japanese Local Public Servant Arrested on Suspicion of Sending Death Threats to Nintendo

Do you remember the Nintendo Live event in Tokyo in 2024? Yes, the one that was canceled due to a man sending death threats to Nintendo? Well, now we have good news, as the person was arrested.

Kyoto Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper, reported that the man behind these threats had been arrested. Nintendo was forced to cancel several live events such as Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo and Splatoon Koshien 2023 National Final Tournament.

The motive of the 20-year-old, who was also a public servant in Ibaraki Prefecture, is not yet known, but what’s important is that Nintendo can now keep hosting these live events.

As for Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo, this event will be broadcast live, without an audience. There is no info about the date yet, but we expect to see an announcement soon.
