How To Defeat Tier 4 & 5 Raid Bosses In Pokemon Go? Be Ready For Legendaries!

The Tier 4 Bosses are quite tough. They are the third evolutions of starters, the dominators like Tyranitar or Rhydon, or singular powerhouses like Lapras or Snorlax. In order to beat them, you will need your most powerful Pokemon and a minimum of four friends.

Venusaur

  • Flareon Fire Spin + Overheat/Charizard Fire Sping + Overheat and other fire types, as well as bug, poison, flying and ice-types.

Charizard

  • Golem Rock Throw + Stone Edge/Vaporeon Water Gun + Hydro Pump and other rock, ground, and water-types.

Blastoise

  • Jolteon Thunder Shock + Thunderbolt/Exeggutor anything + Solar Beam, and other electric and grass-types.

Rhydon

  • Vaporeon Water Gun + Hydro Pump/Exeggutor anything + Solar Beam, also Victoreebel and grass and water types at 2x, as well as ground, steel, fighter, and ice.

Lapras

  • Exeggutor anything + Solar Beam/Jolteon Thunder Shock + Thunderbolt/Machamp Counter + Dynamic Punch, and other fighters, grass, electric, and rock-types.

Snorlax

  • Machamp Counter + Dynamic Punch and other fighter types. Plus anything that can do fast, solid damage, including Alakazam.

Tyranitar

  • Machamp Counter + Dynamic Punch and other fighter types at 2x. You can also use bug, grass, fairy, ground, steel, and water types.

Dragonite has not been seen in the actual Raid Battles, but he has been featured as a Tier 4 Raid Boss on Pokemon Go’s website. If Blissey and Dragonite appear, here are their counters:

Dragonite

  • Lapras Frost Breath + Blizzard or Ice Beam and other ice types, and other rock, fairy, and dragon types.

Blissey

  • Machamp Counter + Dynamic Punch and other fighter types/Dragonite Dragon Tail + Outrage, as well as anything else that can do a lot of damage, like Exeggutor, Flareon, even Alakazam.

Tier 5 Gyms have not been released yet, but are expected to feature Legendary and Mythical Pokemon like the Legendary Birds, Mew and Mewtwo. Here are the speculations:

Articuno
