Only Pokemon Go players with account Lvl 40 can Access Friends and Trading for Now

Trainers, the new features Friends, and Trading are now live, but unfortunately, not everyone can get access to the same. This is not a glitch, and as Niantic reported on their official Twitter account, only Pokemon Go players with account Lvl 40 can experience these features for now. You can see the twitter announcement below:

It looks like Niantic is implementing these features first to Lvl40 players because there are fewer players in that pool, and soon we expect for everyone to get access to Friends and Trading.

UPDATE – Other players with a lower account level than 40 will also have the chance to experience the new feature at a later date. Below you can find the bulleted list of when precisely the function becomes available for lower levels.

  • June 23 – level 35 and higher
  • June 24 – level 25 and higher
  • June 26 – level 20 and higher

UPDATE 2 – It looks like Niantic is speeding up the process, and by the looks of it everyone would be able to experience the new feature sooner than expected! Good job Niantic!
