A new month is underway and players are getting a new set of Field Research tasks and rewards.
These so-called “Field Research tasks” can be obtained through PokeStops. Once you spin a PokeStop’s Photo Discs, you should get few rewards and a Field Research task. Each completed mission will give you either an XP reward, some other items, or Pokemon encounters.
The usual tasks are “Make a number of Great Throws”, ” Hatch Eggs” and so on. There is no limit on how many Field Research tasks you can complete in a day. Keep in mind that only the first task that you clear daily, will give you a stamp. If you get seven stamps, there will be Research Breakthrough, which gives even more rewards and even an encounter with a rare Pokemon.
It has been confirmed that starting from May 1st, 1 PM PDT until June 1st, 1 PM, the new breakthrough reward will be the Flash Pokemon Shinx, which will be accompanied by Shinx Candies.

- Battle another Trainer: Alolan Geodude (can be shiny)
- Catch 10 Pokemon: Magikarp (can be shiny)
- Catch 3 Electric-type Pokemon: Electabuzz
- Catch 3 Water – Electric, or Bug-type Pokemon: Raichu
- Catch 4 different species of Pokemon: 2 Rare Candy
- Catch 5 Pokemon with Weather Boost: Poliwag (can be shiny), Vulpix
- Catch a Dragon-type Pokemon: Dratini (can be shiny)
- Earn 5 hearts with your buddy: 3 Silver Pinap Berries
- Evolve a Pokemon: Eevee (can be shiny)
- Evolve a Pokemon: Lanturn
- Give your buddy 3 treats: Mareep (can be shiny)
- Hatch an Egg: Electrike (can be shiny)
- Make 3 Excellent Throws in a row: Larvitar (can be shiny)
- Make 3 Great Throws in a row: Onix (can be shiny)
- Make 3 Great Throws: Lileep (can be shiny), Anorith (can be shiny), Gastly (can be shiny)
- Make 5 Great Curveball Throws in a row: Spinda #7 (can be shiny)
- Make 5 Nice Throws: Voltorb
- Power Up Pokemon 5 times: Bulbasaur (can be shiny), Charmander (can be shiny), Squirtle (can be shiny)
- Send 3 gifts to friends: Jolteon
- Take a snapshot of an Electric-type Pokemon: Voltorb
- Trade a Pokemon: Joltik
- Transfer 3 Pokemon: Magnemite (can be shiny)
- Win 5 raids: Aerodactyl (can be shiny)
- Win a Level 3 or higher raid: Kabuto (can be shiny), Omanyte (can be shiny)
- Win a Raid: Jolteon
- Win in the GO Battle League: Blitzle
