Pokemon Go Reached $3.1 Billion in Overall Player Spending

The popular mobile game Pokemon GO keeps on getting more and more profit from its enormous player base. According to recent data, the overall spending in the game has officially reached $3.1 billion. The past year has brought nearly $900 million in a Player Spending.

In 2016, the same year when the game was released, it was said to be the most profitable app of all the mobile apps that went out that year, and the Player Spending hit a whopping $832 million. Much to our disbelief, it is known that this app is like a magnet for causing controversy and their contributions to accidents and home invasions. It even caused the government to express their concerns for the players’ safety and pushing the developers to regulate the game use.

Because of this, there was a decline in the player spending in 2017, with a profit of $589 million. Over the following months and years, the game got back to the top and kept generating profit from the player base. Several months later, the game jumped from $589 million up to $816 million.

As statistics say, 2019 is the most successful year for the game, generating 894 million dollars in player spending. 38% of that amount comes from US players. There were also more than 55 million installs in the same year. Out of the 55 million installs, most parts of them came from Android devices. App Store generated 17 million out of those 55 million installs, which is 31% of the Pokemon GO downloads in 2019.
