Trainers, the first wave of Pokemon Go’s Global Challenge event is going live this Thursday and all three teams and the GoFest attendees have to complete specific research tasks to unlock rewards and a Shiny Legendary Beast.
Pokemon Go’s Global Challenge is in three different stages, during the GoFest event of 2019. The first Global Challenge is going live during Pokemon Go Fest Chicago, the second is during Pokemon Go Fest Dortmund and the third is during the Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama.
The first Global Challenge aka Spark’s Candy Research Challenge starts this Thursday, June 13 and will end on Sunday, June 16. Here is what we all should do to unlock the rewards and Shiny Raikou as Bonus Reward.

- Pokemon GO Fest Chicago event attendees – Complete 1 million research tasks to unlock 2× Catch Candy
- Team Instinct – Complete 15 million research tasks globally to unlock guaranteed 1 Rare Candy per raid
- Team Valor – Complete 15 million research tasks globally to unlock 1/2 Hatch Distance
- Team Mystic – Complete 15 million research tasks globally to unlock 2× Hatch Candy
Reward Bonus Date + Time
- All successfully unlocked bonuses will run from Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 1 p.m. until Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 1 p.m. PDT.
- Unlock all the above bonuses, and Raikou will be available in raids for a short period of time (date and time to be announced later). If you’re lucky, you might encounter Shiny Raikou!
One last thing, don’t forget that finishing the Global Research Challenges is the key to unlock the Special Bonus at the end of the summer!
