The Special Research A Drive to Investigate featuring Genesect is now live in some parts of the world and thanks to the Pokemon Go Community we now have the complete list of tasks, rewards, and encounters.
The A Drive to Investigate Special Research is paid to play research that offers a variety of tasks and cool rewards. That being said, only those who got a ticket are able to enjoy all the features. In addition, Genesect research is designed to be played solo and all tasks can be done while staying at home.
The A Drive to Investigate Special Research is five-stage research. Each stage offers three tasks, that’s a total of 15 tasks, which one must complete in order to earn bonuses, catch Genesect and earn Genesect Candy.

- Battle Another Trainer 5 times: x1000 Stardust
- Catch 25 Normal-Type Pokemon: 3 Rare Candy
- Give your Buddy 1 treat: Trubbish
- Rewards: Genesect Cap, Pinsir and x5 Premium Raid Passes
A Drive to Investigate 2/5
- Power Up Pokemon 5 Times: x1000 Stardust
- Catch 25 Fire-Type Pokemon: 3x Rare Candy
- Send 3 Gifts to Friends: Karrablast
- Rewards: 3x Charged TMs, Skarmory, and 3x Super Incubators
A Drive to Investigate 3/5
- Transfer 3 Pokemon: x1000 Stardust
- Catch 25 Water-type Pokemon: x3 Rare Candy
- Hatch an Egg: Shelmet
- Rewards: x3 Incense, Scizor, and Genesect Bag
A Drive to Investigate 4/5
- Make 3 Great Throws in a row: x1000 Stardust
- Catch 25 Electric-type Pokemon: x3 Rare Candy
- Play with your buddy: Kabuto (see how to play with your Buddy guide below)
- Rewards: x3 Fast TM, Genesect, and Glacial Lure Module

- Battle a team leader 3 Times: x1000 Stardust
- Catch 25 Ice-type Pokemon: x3 Rare Candy
- Take 3 snapshots of Genesect: Durant
- Rewards: 1 Puffin, x10 Genesect Candy, and x3 Star Piece

- Assign a Buddy
- Tap the Buddy Icon in the lower-left corner
- Press Play Button
- Play with you Buddy by rubbing it!
Genesect’s debut and the A Drive to Investigate Special Research starts on Friday, March 20, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. and will end on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. in your local time zone.
