Trainers, you can now battle four Mega Evolutions in Mega Raids and to be honest, they’re not easy to beat at all. That being said, you’ll need the best counters to beat them when in battle.
As I said above, there are currently four Mega Evolutions spawning in Mega Raids, Mega Venusaur, Mega Blastoise, Mega Charizard Y and Mega Charizard X. These Pokemon are giving a hard time to many Pokemon Go players and are hard to beat. Worry no more and forget about the headaches, as we now have the perfect counters when it comes down to Mega Evolutions in Mega Raids.
Mega Venusaur Counters
- Mega Charizard Y with Fire Spin/Blast Burn
- Mewtwo with Confusion/Psystrike
- Mega Charizard X with Fire Spin/Blast Burn
- Reshiram with Fire Fang/Overheat
- Darmanitan with Fire Fang/Overheat
NOTE: You need 4-6 Trainers for a successful Mega Raid
Mega Blastoise Counters
- Mega Venusaur with Vine Whip/Frenzy Plant
- Zekrom with Charge Beam/Wild Charge
- Electivire with Thunder Shock/Wild Charge
- Zapdos with Thunder Shock/Thunderbolt
- Raikou with Volt Switch/Wild Charge

Mega Charizard Y Counters
- Rampardos with Smack Down/Rock Slide
- Rhyperior with Smack Down/Rock Wrecker
- Terrakion with Smack Down/Rock Slide
- Tyranitar with Smack Down/Stone Edge
- Aerodactyl with Rock Throw/Rock Slide

Mega Charizard X Counters
- Rayquaza with Dragon Tail/Outrage
- Salamance with Dragon Tail/Outrage
- Rampardos with Smack Down/Rock Slide
- Palkia with Dragon Tail/Draco Meteor
- Zekrom with Dragon Breath/Outrage
NOTE: You need 3-6 Trainers for a successful Mega Raid
As long as you use this guide, you’ll not have any problems with Mega Evolutions and you’ll beat them very easily.
Final words: Using a Ditto would give every other Dragon-type Pokemon in the Raid a 30% damage boost.
