Pokemon Go Beyond Update: Kalos Pokemon, Level-up Redesign, Seasons and 12 Days of Friendship Event

The next few months will be exciting for Pokemon GO fans. The most popular mobile game is going to get its first-ever branded update in the next month, which will include the new Gen 6, new levels, seasons, and other exciting things.

This is something we all have been waiting for, an increase in the level cap. Niantic has explained that the new, fun changes will be implemented starting November 30th, 2020. They have said that they are currently working on making the process to reach level 40 easier so that everyone can level up to 40.

They will be implementing double XP for every task there is currently in the game, so they think that this will make the process way easier than it was until now. For every one that successfully reaches level 40 before the start of the new year, they will become a Legacy 40 Trainer and will receive many rewards, accesses to exclusive Timed Research and many other perks. This will end on December 31st, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. local time. After this timeline, you will not get the Legacy 40 Trainer title or the rewards that go with it. This change is already in effect, and it starts today, November 18th, 2020.

The max level will now be 50, instead of 40 like it was until now. The level-up process from 40 to 50 will be quite different than it was from 1 to level 40. This time, except the XP earning, Trainers will need to complete the new Level-up Research tasks. As stated by Niantic, Pokemon can be powered-up through an introduction to a new type of candy, Candy XL, which can be gained through the conversion of regular candies or tasks.

The anticipated Generation 6 is coming to us with this new branded update, named Go Beyond. On December 2nd, these new beasts will join us on our adventure through wild spawns and encounters. This includes X and Y starters Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Bunnelby, Fletching and Litleo. To honor the arrival of the new Pokemon, Niantic is hosting a special event on December 2nd at 10 a.m. local time and will end on December 8th at 10 p.m local time.

As part of the update, we will be introduced to a new feature called Seasons. This means that a new Season will begin every three months, and during these three months, there will be different Pokemon with a “theme”, for example – players in the Northern Hemisphere will have encounters with wintery Pokemon meanwhile the ones in the Southern Hemisphere will get the summer-themed Pokemon. Niantic made sure to tell us that the events that will occur during these months will also be themed, depending on which Season it is currently happening.

To celebrate the friendship between Trainers, Niantic will also be hosting a “12 Days of Friendship” event beginning today, November 18th, 2020. During this event, you can increase your Friendship level much quicker than usual. If you battle a Raid Boss alongside your friend, you will have an attack boost, increased XP if you complete the battle, and the gifts you will receive from your friend will also increase. This event will end on November 30th, 2020, at 1 p.m. PT.

What do you think about these changes? We sure do like these implementations because the game will get more interesting than it already is.
