Pokemon Go May 2021 Events

May 2021 will be full of events and surprises, and we suggest you get ready for them!

We will begin with the information we think is quite important, a new Shadow Pokemon waiting to be saved from Giovanni, a Legendary bird known as Moltres. You can challenge Giovanni by finishing the Team GO Rocket Special Research “The Higher They Fly..” to get a Super Rocket Radar so you can save the Bird from him. The Super Rocket Radar will also be available in the Luminous Legends X event.

Now that we have mentioned the name of the event starting on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021, a new Legendary Pokemon will be joining us, which is the long-awaited Pokemon Xerneas. During the time dedicated to this Pokemon, Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokemon will be appearing more frequently in the wild. The Luminous Legends X will end on Monday, May 17th, 2021. The next event in line is Luminous Legends Y. Starting on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, we will have a chance to get an encounter with Yveltal until Monday, May 31st.

During these few days, Niantic said that Team GO Rocket will be stirring some trouble in the game and Dark-type Pokemon will be appearing more often in the wild. During both of the Luminous Legends events, there will be special rewards during the second week if you complete a few challenges that are not stated yet.

The new Pokemon featured in the Research Breakthrough encounters will be Galarian Ponyta, and the new five-star Raid Bosses will be the following: Incarnate Forme Tornadus, Incarnate Forme Thundurus, and Incarnate Forme Landorus will be with us until Tuesday, May 4th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The next Raid Boss will be Xerneas, and will start appearing from Tuesday, May 4th, 2021, and will leave the game on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021. Starting on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. as a Raid Boss we will have Yveltal, the Destruction Pokemon, and will continue to destroy us until Tuesday, June 1st, 2021.

As for Mega Raids, as Mega-Raid Bosses, we will have Mega Venusaur, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Abomasnow until Tuesday, May 4th, at 10:00 local time. From May 5th until May 15th, we will have Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard Y and Mega Lopunny as Raid Bosses. When this trio leaves, Mega Ampharos, Mega Houndoom, and (probably) a new Mega-Evolved Pokemon will be featured as Raid Bosses in Mega Raids.

These three will leave us on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Another event that we will have during May will be the New Pokemon Snap Celebration, happening from Thursday, April 29th, 2021, to Sunday, May 2nd, 2021. The next ones are Spotlight Hours and Raid Hours.

Every Wednesday in May, we will have a Raid Hour featuring every five-star Raid Boss that appears during that week. On Tuesday, May 4th, during the first Spotlight Hour we will have Cottonee, which will bring us 2x Candy for catching Pokemon.

The following Tuesday, May 11th, Dratini will visit us together with x2 Candy for transferring Pokemon. On May 18th, Alolan Rattata will be in the spotlight, which will bring us a bonus of x2 XP for evolving Pokemon. On the last Tuesday of the month, Marill will be bumping us with its bubble-like tail and will give us x2 Stardust for catching Pokemon.

Just when you thought that the surprises are coming to an end, Niantic stated that every Monday in May, we will be getting a free one-time bundle that will have a Remote Raid Pass as well as other items.

We sure cannot wait for May to come, but what about you?
