Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go should consider adding the Fishing feature into the game. This would be really cool and the only thing you should do is walk up to the water’s edge, the game prompts you to turn on AR and you get a fishing rod to catch Water-type Pokemon. Sounds great, right?
This fishing system would be to add realism into the game besides the weather system, and it might help players in rural places have the chance to get a Water-Type Pokemon. Besides the realistic details, it can also help to find Pokemon that do not typically spawn on land due to their living conditions being underwater.
You all know how fishing works, with the rods and water and other fishing details, but the one thing that we feel the system would need (if it gets launched into the game) is a reward system. The Rods could be included in either PokeStop spins or as a Field Research task reward.
Water-Type Pokemon would spawn in the water, which will make them available to catch with our little rods (like a true fisherman), but the only problem with this idea would be the players that do not have a pound or a lake near them. Some players have suggested that this problem would be fixable only if certain Water-Type Pokemon spawn in the wild, but at a lower spawn rate than it normally would be.
I think this could be a really fun feature and will make the game more exciting. What do you think about it? Would you like to see a Fishing feature in the game?
