Pokemon Go Odds of Getting Shiny Pokemon on Community Day Event

The Pokemon Go Community Day event is a one-of-a-kind event that every Trainer wants to participate in. This specific event is one of the most liked events in the mobile game, where Trainers have a chance to catch a highlighted Pokemon and its Shiny form during the six-hour time frame.

During Community Day, there is usually a highlighted Pokemon rarely seen in the wild, thus making it a great Pocket Monster to catch and get candies for further evolution or a power-up. If a Trainer stumbles upon a hundo, or better, a shundo, that will be a great thing. Plus, the chance of getting a Shiny version is increased during Community Day events.

Another thing that Trainers are looking forward to is the release of a new Shiny form of a Pokemon, which usually happens on Community Day, and it has a greater chance of the Pokemon turning into its Shiny form. Community Day is the event that increases both spawn and shiny rates of the chosen Pokemon. It is also the event where there are many bonuses, such as x2 Stardust, x2 Candy, and many more.

According to reports, the odds of getting a Shiny form during a Community Day event is around 1 in 25, which is great. This means it’s a lot easier to get a Shiny Pokemon during the Community Day hours, instead of a normal day.

The first Pokemon Go Community Day event went live on January 20, 2018, featuring Pikachu, its shiny forms, and Surf as the Special move. Since then, we have seen/participated in 46 Community Day events, the last one being October Duskull Community Day.

There are two more Community Day events in 2021, one in November and the last in December, so hopefully, we’re going to see new Shiny Pokemon and cool bonuses.

  1. My husband and I started community day at exactly 11am. Walked the park till 5am. I got 22 shiny duskulls running only incenses. My husband got 30 shiny duskulls. One of his was a decent 3 star. I got a couple regular near perfects. Lots of fun

  2. I got 20 shiny duskull without being out very long. He was a little tougher than usual. I am hoping for pidove, axew, goomy or deino, but we’ll probably get cacnea or caterpie ugghh!!!

  3. It looks like you aren’t aware of how community day works.. here are the few things you should keep in mind..
    1. The bonuses are pretty much fixed.. Niantic will simply cycle through 3X catch XP, 3X catch stardust & ¼th hatch distance..

    2. Niantic won’t release new mons during December.. However, if you want to get the community day move, Niantic provides a chance to get the community day move by evolving the current year & previous year mons..

    3. The bonuses that you mentioned(2X catch candy..) are part of spotlight hours which usually happens on every Tuesday 18:00 – 19:00(local time)..

    4. Finally, people tend to play the community day not just for catching shinies.. we will get a community day exclusive move which holds some edge during PVP battles..

  4. I would love Axew or Goomy on November Community day hope fully I will get more than 4 shinies after catching 280 mons
