Trainers, the Pokemon Go Lunar New Year 2022 is underway and two new Friendship and Catch Challenge Timed Research are now live in the game.
The Pokemon Go Lunar New Year 2022 event runs from February 1, 2022, to February 7, 2022, featuring Shiny Litleo, different event bonuses, wild Pokemon encounters, shiny Pokemon encounters, different Pokemon in one, three, five, and Mega Raids, new Pokemon in 7km Eggs, and two new timed research challenges focused around catching and friendship.
Completing the Timed Research you’ll earn Litleo and Espurr. Please have in mind that both Pokemon can be shiny. That said, let’s take a look at the list of all tasks and rewards for the Friendship and Catch Challenge Timed Research.

Pokemon Go Lunar New Year 2022 Friendship Challenge
- Send 5 Gifts and add a sticker to each: Torchic
- Trade 3 Pokemon with a friend: Corphish
- Send 15 Gifts to friends: Darumaka
- Send Gifts 3 days in a row: TBA
- Rewards: Pokemon encounter (we will know the encounter in three days starting from today), 1,000 Stardust, and 1,000 XP

- Catch 10 Pokemon: 10 PokeBall
- Catch 25 Pokemon: 15 GreatBall
- Send 25 Fire-type Pokemon: 20 UltraBall
- Catch 10 different species of Pokemon: Litleo
- Rewards:Â Espurr, 1,000 Stardust, 1,000 XP

- Catch 5 Pokemon: 25 Gyarados Mega Energy
- Catch 5 Pokemon: Darumaka
- Make 3 Curveball Throws: Voltorb
- Send 3 gifts and a sticker to each: Litleo
- Trade a Pokemon: Litleo
During the Pokemon Go Lunar New Year 2022 event, you can earn x2 Stardust from opening Gifts, and make 1 extra special trade per day. Also, there is an increased chance for Lucky Pokemon in trades, and an increased chance to become Lucky Friends.
