Pokemon Go Season of Light Details

Since its announcement, Season of Light has been kept well under wraps, until now. Niantic has just announced everything that will be happening during the whole Season of Light.

Starting on September 1st, 2022, we will see the Nebula Pokemon, otherwise known as Cosmog. Professor Willow will be the one that will introduce us to this cute and bubbly Pokemon. Besides this, on the same day Trainers will get the Season of Light Special Research which will run until the end of the Season, which is December 1st, 2022, at 9:59 a.m. local time. However, the Season of Light Special Research will have three parts, the first part will be unlocked on September 1st, 2022, while the second part will be available on October 5th, 2022. The third and last part of the Season of Light Special Research will be unlocked on November 23rd, 2022.

A Nebula Sky will be available throughout the Season of Light, which will paint the skies in Pokemon Go in various colors. Trainers can decorate their avatars with avatar items inspired by Cosmog.

From September 1st until September 13th, the Five-star Raid Bosses will be Normal Forme Deoxys, Attack Forme Deoxys, Defense Forme Deoxys and Speed Forme Deoxys. The period between September 14th, 2022 and September 26th is kept a secret, while from September 27th, 2022, until October 8th, 2022, the Pokemon that will be in Five-Star Raid battles is Yveltal.

As for events during the Season of Light, the events that will be happening during the Season of Light are:

  • Inkay Limited Research event – September 3rd, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. local time until 2:00 p.m. local time
  • Psychic Spectacular – September 6th, 2022, until September 12th, 2022
  • Clefairy Commotion – September 10th, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time
  • Test your Mettle – September 16th, 2022, until September 21st, 2022
  • September Community Day event – September 16th, 2022
  • Safari Zone: Goyang – September 23rd, 2022, until September 25th, 2022
  • Fashion Week – September 27th, 2022, until October 3rd, 2022

The Raid Hour events for the Season of Light are the following:

  • September 7th, 2022 – Normal Forme Deoxys, Attack Forme Deoxys, Defense Forme Deoxys and Speed Forme Deoxys
  • September 13th, 2022 until September 27th, 2022 – unknown
  • September 28th, 2022 – Yveltal

The Pokemon that will be in Mega Raids (at least the ones that are currently announced) are Mega Ampharos (Sept. 1st until Sept. 6th, 2022) and Mega Lopunny (Sept. 27th until Oct. 8th).

The schedule for the Spotlight Hour events is the following:

  • September 6th, 2022 – Munna with 2x Stardust for catching Pokemon
  • September 13th, 2022 – Ralts with 2x XP for catching Pokemon
  • September 20th, 2022 – Aron with 2x Candy for catching Pokemon
  • September 27th, 2022 – Minccino with 2x Candy for transferring Pokemon

The Pokemon that will be hatching from 2km Eggs are Pichu, Cleffa, Munna, Fomantis, Wimpod and more, while in 5km Eggs the Pokemon that will be hatching are Tyrogue, Elekid, Magby, Miltank and more. As for 10km Eggs, the Pokemon that will be hatching are Tirtouga, Archen, Noibat, Rockruff, Jangmo-o and more.

As for Adventure Sync Rewards, from 5km Eggs, the Pokemon that will be available are Cranidos, Shieldon, Happiny, Muchlax, Karrablast and Shelmet. From 10km Eggs, the Pokemon that will hatch are Dratini, Bagon, Beldum, Gible, Riolu and Goomy.

In cities, the Pokemon that will be appearing in the wild are Jigglypuff, Machop, Magnemite, Muk, Voltorb, Umbreon, Litwick and more. In forests, the Pokemon that will be appearing more frequently are Mareep, Sunkern, Yanma, Espeon, Pineco, Plant Cloak Burmy, Hisuian Voltorb and more.

In mountains, the Pokemon that will be in the wild more frequently are Sandslash, Clefairy, Diglett, Snorlax, Sneasel, Stantler, Deino and More. Near beaches and water, the Pokemon that will be appearing are Seel, Staryu, Mantine, Pelipper, Carvanha, Wailmer, Feebas and more.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the Pokemon that will be appearing more frequently are Scyther, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Teddiursa, Shroomish and more. In the Southern hemisphere, the Pokemon that will be appearing in the wild are Paras, Chansey, Skitty, Bagon, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott and more.

The seasonal bonuses during the Season of Light are:

  • Increased damage for Pokemon participating in raids remotely
  • Guaranteed Gifts from PokeStop spins
  • Increased Incense effectiveness while moving
  • Up to two free Raid Passes per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Additional Items from Research Breakthroughs
  • Increased Stardust reward for Research Breakthroughs
  • Extra Stardust from Gifts

And last but not least, the Research Breakthrough Pokemon for September will be Medicham, and Trainers will also get one Premium Raid Pass.
