Trainers, new Field Research tasks, and encounters are now available in Pokemon Go. These Pokemon will be available to encounter when you complete the new Field Research tasks, and if you are lucky, you may encounter a shiny one.
The Pokemon Go Festival of Lights 2022 is a new limited-time event, featuring two new Pokemon, event bonuses, Raid Bosses, different shiny Pokemon, new two-step Timed Research and a new wave of Field Research tasks. The tasks are not that hard, and you can complete them in the blink of an eye.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, some of these Field Research encounters, such as Galarian Ponyta, Magmar, Chinchou, etc, can be shiny.

Festival of Lights 2022 Field Research Tasks Encounters
- Catch 5 Pokemon: Chinchou can be shiny
- Catch 15 Pokemon: Morelull
- Catch 15 Pokemon: Blitzle can be shiny
- Hatch an Egg: Galarian Ponyta can be shiny
- Power up Pokemon 5 Times: Dedenne
- Send 5 Gifts to Friends with a Sticker: Magmar can be shiny, and Electabuzz can be shiny
The Festival of Lights 2022 event starts on October 14, 2022, at 10 AM, and ends on October 17, 2022, at 8 PM local time.
