New Battlefield 2042 Easter Egg Pays Homage to Mirror’s Edge Franchise

Battlefield 2042 Season 4 has introduced a new Easter egg that pays homage to DICE‘s previous work on the Mirror’s Edge franchise. The Easter egg can be found in the new Flashpoint map and features a pair of Faith’s running shoes, a reference to the protagonist of the Mirror’s Edge franchise.

Mirror’s Edge is a cult classic franchise known for its fast-paced parkour system and unique art style. While the franchise may not be as well-known as Battlefield, it has a dedicated fanbase excited to see DICE reference it in Battlefield 2042.

The Easter egg was first discovered and revealed by DANNYonPC, a popular YouTuber known for his Battlefield content. In his video, DANNYonPC provides a quick tour of the Easter egg, showing off Faith’s running shoes and its location.

The inclusion of the Easter egg is a reminder that DICE is a versatile studio that is capable of crafting experiences outside of the first-person shooter genre. While it’s unclear if we’ll see Faith Connors run again in a new Mirror’s Edge game, the Easter egg is a fun nod to the franchise and adds an extra layer of excitement for players exploring Battlefield 2042’s maps.

As players continue to explore Battlefield 2042 and uncover its various Easter eggs, it’s clear that DICE has put a lot of care and attention into creating a rich and immersive world for players to enjoy. Whether you’re a fan of Battlefield or Mirror’s Edge, there’s plenty to discover and enjoy in this exciting near-future warfare game.

After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
