Pokemon Go List of Pokemon That Can No Longer be Obtained in the Game
On this laidback Friday, I was thinking about Pokemon Go. Then started thinking about Pokemon. Suddenly, I realized that some Pokemon I have in my PokeDex are no longer available in the game. I haven’t seen these Pokemon for a while now, for example, Shiny Detective Hat Pikachu, so I decided to make a list of Pokemon we might never get a chance to get again.
In any game, some items are so rare that they are either very hard to find, or they appear only once and that’s it. The same is with Pokemon Go. Some Pokemon are hard to find, and some Pokemon appear only once and are left in the past. They are no longer to be seen.
For instance, Shiny Mew. I remember how hard I worked to finish the Research at the time, so I would get Shiny Mew. As far as I can remember, that was Shiny Mew’s first and last appearance in Pokemon Go.
All of this got me thinking, what Pokemon are no longer available in Pokemon Go? Well, happy to help you all, so here is the list of which Pokemon we haven’t seen for a while now, which means you can no longer get these Pokemon.
List of Pokemon That No Longer Exist in Pokemon Go
- Shiny Detective Hat Pikachu
- Female Detective Hat Pikachu
- Shiny Mew (the Research for Shiny Mew is no longer available)
- Shiny Celebi (the Research for Shiny Celebi is no longer available)
- Clone Pokemon
- Costume Lugia. This was released during Pokemon Go Chicago Go Fest in 2017. Costume Lugia was only available as the gift given by Niantic after Go Fest 2017
- Shiny Fragment Hat Pikachu. You can find it on eBay
- Armored Mewtwo. Thanks to the community. Please have in mind that Armored Mewtwo is tradeable
- Apex Shadow Lugia and Apex Shadow Ho-Oh

I think the invisible pokemon kecleon might be gone…I have been hunting for months to find 9 more I need to clear a special field tasks.
I just finished that challenge. It was awful but they are definitely still around. What I would do is go to a place where there were tons of pokie stops and just click on each one from a central location to see if any of them had a Kelceon. If I found one I’d drive over too it. Saved me a TON of time.
I have been doing this for weeks . The first week of the the task I found one, but after hundreds of pokestops I haven’t found another.

A lot of people didn’t get shiny mew because they put it behind a pay wall.
I’m kicking myself for thinking that not paying would just mean I would get later. As they have done with other Pokémon in the past. People paid for early access.

Yes! All the changes in the game, such as the ridiculous increase in raid passes and others, has definitely become useless. I started playing other games already lol

I just wana say that if you are a diehard Pokémon player like me most of this list can be explained easily… Also if you have to buy your Pokémon on ebay or anywhere online your just a cheater and can afford it… Also if you haven’t got to level 50 yet your running out of time… Everything in Pokémon Go will have to be paid for bcuz the end of game is coming soon…
I caught a Charmander 3 weeks ago. And have seen several of these Pokemon this year. I think maybe some are just rotating thru regions maybe, and events?
