Remnant 2 New Story Trailer Reveals New Weapons and Bosses

Gunfire Games has recently wowed audiences at the Guerrilla Collective Showcase with a new trailer for Remnant 2, the sequel to the 2019 sleeper hit. The sequel, set in the same universe, takes players several decades into the future, where Earth and Ward 13 are slowly healing from the disastrous invasion by The Root.

The new trailer (courtesy of IGN, embedded below) promises a rich, multi-world narrative, new weapons, bosses, and an innovative Archetype system designed to offer players varying gameplay styles.

Remnant 2 thrusts players into an ongoing battle with The Root. Players will traverse a range of worlds, journeying through the ominous Labyrinth, to finally destroy The Root and halt its reign of terror.

A prominent feature of the trailer was the vast array of weapons available to players. From classic swords, throwing axes, and flails to modern-day rifles and machine guns, there is a weapon for every scenario and player preference. The inclusion of a bow adds another layer of versatility to the gameplay. Weapons can be extensively upgraded and customized, a point emphasized by the transformation of various rifles shown in the trailer.

The game will present several formidable bosses to keep players on their toes. These bosses promise to be challenging, requiring strategy and skill to overcome. However, players aren’t left to their own devices. The new Archetype system comes into play here, allowing players to choose between different player styles that offer unique abilities.

For instance, the Challenger archetype allows players to defy death, providing much-needed resilience in the face of challenging enemies. The Handler archetype introduces a dog companion to aid in battle, providing a fresh dynamic to the gameplay. The Gunslinger archetype offers rapid-firing abilities for those who prefer a fast-paced, gun-toting approach.

Gunfire Games has yet to announce a specific release date, but gamers can expect Remnant 2 to be available in Summer 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
