Starfield Blasts Off and Surpasses 10 Million Players in Record Time

The cosmos of gaming has a new star, and it’s shining brighter than ever before. Bethesda Game Studios, known for its commitment to crafting immersive role-playing experiences, has done it again with its latest offering, Starfield. It has already achieved the commendable feat of attracting over 10 million players across PC and console, all within a short span since its release.

The sci-fi RPG’s explosive debut saw a staggering 6 million players joining the ranks on day one. The game’s enormous appeal was further emphasized when it garnered over a million concurrent players across all platforms, marking its dominance.

A notable portion of Starfield’s success can be attributed to its availability on Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service that allows players to access a vast library of games. It provides an accessible entry point for many, mainly those curious about the space-faring adventure but who might have been hesitant to make a complete purchase. Nevertheless, given Bethesda’s track record, the appeal of a new RPG from the gaming giant was always destined to turn heads.

The glowing reception is not limited to just player numbers. Critics, too, have been effusive in their praise. A review described the game as, “As unfathomably vast and boundless as the subject matter it covers.” The acclaim went on to liken the title’s impact to Bethesda’s past icons, which, in their own time, set new standards for the industry. With a perfect 10/10 score, the sentiment across the board is clear: Starfield has not just met but exceeded expectations.

The game’s enchantment is not lost on Bethesda, which took to Twitter to thank the community, exclaiming, “Thank you to more than 10 million #Starfield explorers for creating the biggest launch in Bethesda history.”

With its expansive universe and intricate storytelling, Starfield promises players an odyssey that’s both vast in scale and rich in detail. If early numbers and reviews are anything to go by, the game might be on its way to becoming a cornerstone in the annals of gaming history.

For those ready to embark on a journey among the stars, Starfield is now available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
