Rise of the Ronin New Trailer and March 2024 Release Date Announced for PS5

Rise of the Ronin, the highly anticipated action RPG from Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo, is making ripples with its new trailer (embedded above) and announced release date at The Game Awards. Slated for release on March 22, 2024, this PS5 exclusive promises an epic journey set in late 19th century Japan during the tumultuous Bakumatsu period, marking the end of the 300-year-long Edo Period.

The game is described as a combat-focused, open-world action RPG. It uniquely blends traditional combat with Katanas and introduces firearms, reflecting the era’s changing warfare dynamics. In “Rise of the Ronin,” players embody a Ronin character, a warrior without a master, free to make their own choices in a period marked by oppressive rulers, civil war, and significant cultural shifts.

Team Ninja, known for their expertise in crafting samurai and ninja action games, considers “Rise of the Ronin” their most ambitious project. The game aims to portray the critical revolution in Japan’s history, including some of its darkest and most challenging aspects. The developers are committed to creating a multilayered story, where characters possess distinct motivations and forms of justice, making each player’s decision impactful.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
