Japanese Celebrities advised to avoid mentioning Palworld due to Pokemon controversy
It has been awfully quiet since Palworld came out, and it is quite strange to be honest.
According to reports from Toyko Sports, some talents have been advised against talking about Palworld in either public or social media and should be out of consideration for Pokemon as an agency.
The source that Toyko Sports mentioned said that they “have told our talent not to mention Palworld on social media or in public.”
“This was done out of consideration for the Pokemon side as an agency. This decision was made in consideration of future potential collaborations,” the source claimed.
The very day Palworld came out, the entire public was patiently waiting on Pokemon’s response to Palworld, mainly due to the similarities both groups have, in terms of character similarities. We all have to admit that Pals in Palworld look really similar to Pokemon. Not just in looks, but in movements too. That is not the only similarity though.
Suddenly, The Pokemon Company came out of its shell and said “we have not granted any permission for the use of Pokemon intellectual property or assets in that game. We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to the Pokemon.”
Palworld has been dubbed as the biggest third-party Game Pass launch to date, and it has sold nearly 19 million copies since its launch.
Time will tell what will happen with this duo.
What do you think about this “agreement”? Let’s talk in the comments below.
