Battlefield 2042 Season 1 Will Start in Early 2022

With Battlefield 2042 just around the corner, players are stoked about its outcome and actually cannot wait to try it out. The eagerness is still on the rise, as the new Portal Builder app has been released by EA ahead of BF2042’s release. But when is the official kick-off of the first Battlefield 2042 season? Well, worry not because we’ve got you covered.

The first Season for Battlefield 2042 is slightly distant, and the developer plans to start it in early 2022. The reason for this choice is unknown, but we could assume that they need a lot more work to satisfy a large group of gamers. In that light, everything likely needs to be polished and work properly, and Battle Passes should carry over fresh content such as maps, specialists, and more.

How many seasons per year will Battlefield 2042 have?

In a recent article, the developer claimed that there would be four seasons per year, and each one of them will include a unique Battle Pass, new specialist, and locations with more fresh content. That means that season 1 will consist of a brand new specialist, Battle Pass, and Portal content.

In our first year of live service, we will deliver four Seasons, with four Battle Passes, four new Specialists, and new locations along with more fresh content. We also intend to deliver updates to Battlefield Portal that will give players more ways to build and share new Battlefield experiences with the world.

That means for Season 1, you can expect a new Specialist, Battle Pass and Portal content, and maybe even some new sights to see as the story of Battlefield 2042 continues to unfold. Expect more details early next year.

During launch we’ll also kick off the Preseason with Weekly Missions and Rewards, Limited Time Modes, featured Creator Spotlights and experiences in Battlefield Portal, and more!

In other news, Battlefield 2042’s preload is currently available, which means if you own a copy of the game, you can already download it and be ready for its launch.

  1. The game should have been delayed again. There’s not enough content available at launch and a ton of issues that havnt been fixed. They should have had multiple open betas for this so everyone can see its not worth pre ordering or even playing until the first season releases. It’s in a sorry state.
