Niantic and GaymerX may be the Reason Behind the Gender Erasure in Pokémon GO

Trainers, Avatar changes, and gender erasure from Pokémon GO are not well received by many, and the entire Pokémon community is already starting to react.

Niantic announced changes/updates, four of them, and just when we all thought it couldn’t get any worse, they screwed things up. But what is the reason for all this? Why these unnecessary changes? Why waste time on something that will spoil the entire gameplay? We’re here to catch Pokémon, not to bother with who wore what color of socks.

Grummz turned out for a very good reason behind this whole thing, and many Pokémon GO players would agree with him, regardless of race, color, or gender. It seems that Niantic and GaymerX joined forces and together decided to eliminate Gender options in Pokémon GO.

Niantic is part of GaymerX’s consulting and training services. They offer training to advance Diversity, Equity, Visibility, and Inclusion in gaming.

Many players feel that these unnecessary changes are ruining the Pokémon brand as a whole.

We support and love everyone! We are all the same! Bigger companies have to stop with these provocations and focus on their job, which is to make us happy, to have no lags, or bugs, to ban all hackers from stealing other people’s accounts, and so on.

What is your opinion? Do you think this could affect the players’ count?
